Very few people know that many cities, regions and boroughs in Quebec offer financial assistance for the purchase of reusable menstrual products. This initiative allows the reduction of waste related to disposable menstrual products and thus promotes the purchase of sustainable alternatives.

Here are the cities, municipalities, MRCs and boroughs of Quebec involved in the movement. It is possible that some of the following grants are suspended or terminated, you can contact your municipality directly for more details.

Montréal

Ahuntsic-Cartierville

50% of the costs related to the purchase of durable menstrual products up to a maximum reimbursement of 75$.

50% of the cost of durable menstrual products. This subsidy can be used every two years.

Financial assistance covers 50% of the cost of purchasing or renting reusable products before taxes. It is set at $225 per calendar year per residence. If the products were purchased from a Dorval business, the maximum amount is set at $275.

The borough of Saint-Laurent collaborates with the organization VertCité and wishes to encourage the use of sustainable menstrual products. The subsidy offered is 50% of the total bill for a maximum of $75 before taxes. Only one subsidy per person is allowed.

50% refund on the purchase of a bidet attachment, bidet toilet seat, travel bidet, washable paper towel, menstrual cup, washable sanitary napkin, washable menstrual panties and washable toilet paper, up to a maximum of $100 per residence.
